This series was inspired by the intricate structure and strength of tumbleweeds. Each sculpture tests how repetition and tension act to strengthen an object. The resting equilibrium achieved by mere twisting and turning of the materials gives the sculpture a degree of complexity and stability that function as an embodiment of the force of movement at the same time.
Every design begins as a fascinating idea residing solely in the mind of its creator. In my case, the ideas were merely playful means to engage materials and tools creatively and to innovate by redefining a material’s inherent function and influence. I believe that reclamation of material perpetuates the eternal quality that all matter possesses as it exists independently, timelessly, and by virtue of its potential.
